(Bloomberg) Morgan Stanley is hiring Hermann Prelle (IPBS 1991) from UBS Group AG as chairman of investment banking for Germany, as the U.S. bank seeks to bolster its presence in the country, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
Prelle, who was most recently chairman of corporate client solutions at UBS in Germany, will continue to be based in Frankfurt, the people said, asking not to be identified because the matter is private.
In his new role, Prelle will join the team at Morgan Stanley that is working on deals including the initial public offering of Bayer AG’s plastics unit Covestro AG and Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan’s takeover approach for K+S AG.
